The need for a safe solution to the transportation of materials was the impetus for the development of the JS SRV line of Pressure Relief Valves. Kelso recognized the absolute need and sales potential of this unique technology and began with the development of its first pressure relief valve - the JS75 SRV - and moved to develop this truly innovative and first-of-its-kind pressure relief valve for the rail industry. An intensive program of Research and Development was undertaken over several years before Kelso engaged a spring/valve manufacturer who invented the patented JS75 SRV valve. It was important to Kelso to commit enough time and energy on the development of a truly innovative and effective pressure relief valve that would be revolutionary enough to provide a safer means of transporting hazardous and non-hazardous commodities wherever a tank car is required to travel. The JS75 SRV's positive results in independent testing, the Association of American Railroads' (AAR) approval of the valve to undertake the AAR one and two year Service Trial, the actual installation of 30 JS75 SRV valves on railroad tank cars, the ultimate certification of the JS75 SRV Pressure Relief Valve by the AAR for both hazardous and non-hazardous commodity transport and the commercialization of Kelso's technology have placed Kelso in a very strong position for potential sales. Kelso is currently working to develop other pressure relief valves based on its patented JS SRV technology for other applications within the rail industry. Future R&D will focus on adaptation of the technology to a broader range of industries including: petrochemical, stationary storage, pipeline, trucking, marine and air transport industries. With 21 Patents worldwide, Kelso will enter the global marketplace in order to capitalize on its technology. |
